terrorists and thunderstorms

well, that certainly wasn't what i wanted to wake up to at 4 AM: watching another terrorist attack unfolding. it's gone from bad to worse, there are at least 37 dead and reuters was reporting 60 confirmed deaths earlier. three subway trains and a suicide bomber on a bus, and we're the bad guys. nice. terrorism is everywhere. the terrorists who bombed london today didn't do it because they just hate america. if that was the case, they would have blown up something in the united states. instead, they pick countries that they see as united with us on fighting terrorism. abc news had a report on their website today saying that a group in europe took responsibility for the bombings. the group reportedly called it a "blessed event against the Zionist crusader Britain" and praised the mujahadeen. they promised more attacks, especially in italy and denmark. the two questions that come in to my mind are: 1. how the hell do police officers not see people setting out bombs in subway tunnels, and 2. why is the united states, and specifically the president, being blamed for the bombing today? it's confusing. it's scary. a suicide bomber on a bus brings the terror to a whole new level. that could have happened anywhere. time to ramp up the efforts to fight terror, and really start going after people.

in other unrelated news...mother nature finally decided she doesn't hate us anymore and we got some rain today. came out of nowhere, about 3:30 it got really dark and started lightning. it POURED down rain for probably an hour. we need it so badly, i was happy to see it rain. the farmers really, really need it. let's hope we keep getting more of these good ol' summertime storms that blow up and rain all over us for an hour or so. i won't complain about that.
